FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

What is the currency of your website?

All dollar amounts shown are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

What is the half chest size?

All sizing is in centimeters (cm) and represents the half chest measurement, from armpit to armpit, across the garment when laid flat.  To check a size, the best thing to do is find a similar garment (T-Shirt, Polo or Hoodie etc) that fits you well, lie it down flat and measure it from side to side.  Then match up the measurement to the size guide given for the garment.  Note some styles are more fitted than others.

Can I get a sample?

It is important that you get clothing that is fit for it’s purpose and fit for the wearer.  Most of our customers are happy to order directly from the online catalogue based on the images and sizing provided but if you have doubts we would encourage you to order samples to check garment size, style and fit before embroidery or printing.

We need to invoice for all orders before they are sent out – including sample orders.  Garments can then be returned for screen printing or embroidery as required.  Unwanted samples must be returned within 14 days in as new saleable condition with any packaging intact, and we’ll issue a refund or credit for the item. Freight costs on sample orders are non refundable.

How do I order samples?

You can order them online.  If you need a quote go to our Request a Quote form and enter your delivery details and garment style/colour/size requirements there.  For an accurate quote including branding, please enter as many details as possible.

What garments should I buy?

This is really entirely up to you depending on the type of garment you need and the colour combo required. Generally garments that have a component of polyester or elastane tend to hold their colour and shape better than 100% cotton garments. This can be very important for the image of your brand. High tech sports fabrics (eg. DriGear, BizCool, Climacool, KoolDri etc) are great for sports use or for a smart casual uniform. If you are unsure of which fabric is right for your purpose and branding, we are happy to help.

Can I have a price for Branding, that is, printing and embroidery?

Absolutely, we provide quotes free of charge.  Since The Uniform Factory provides a custom product we are happy to provide a quote for any garments or branding that you require.  There are price breaks for large volume orders so the more you order the cheaper the unit price will be.  Our price quotes are valid for 30 days.  To request a quote, click here.

How many garments do I have to order?

At The Uniform Factory we have no minimum order quantity.  However, when ordering a single garment or small quantity set-up costs for printing or branding may make the garment expensive.  This will vary depending on the actual design and branding method.  To request a quote, click here.

Do you have a showroom?

As we provide a Nationwide service and our range is so extensive it is not practical for us to have a showroom or retail store in any one location. For our standard range it is best to see our online catalogue here at www.theuniformfactory.co.nz for the latest styles, colours, sizes available. If you need something specific just contact us and let us know what you need and we can help. The other obvious benefit of purchasing direct from us via our online catalogue is our wholesale pricing for clothing, screen printing & embroidery which of course is great news for all of our customers.
